All the Way – Jordin Tootoo (OLD REVIEW)

“You’ve got to be able to let things go. When you’re able to talk about it, it releases negativity and you become more comfortable in your own skin.” – Jordin Tootoo

If you think this is just another hockey book, you’ve got another thing coming. You would never expect someone like Jordin, who is a tough and unforgiving player on ice, to open up like this and show all his emotions. It is the honesty that draws you right into the book and does not let you go. It makes you feel as if you can relate to the issues he had, although you may have never experienced them yourself. You find yourself feeling bad for him in one chapter and rooting for him in the other. It is like you are there with him. Definitely a must read for not only the hockey fans, but for anyone who is looking for the motivation, to change his life around for the better.

On a side note, the chapters could have been organized better, this way it makes it seem like he is repeating himself in some parts of the book.

Book recommendation: 7/10

It is. He talks about his family’s problems with alcohol, his brother’s suicide and then his own problems with substance abuse. If you’re interested in reading that kind of stuff, I recommend it. 🙂

Have you read “Alexander Hamilton” by Ron Chernow?
